May Chamber Luncheon Recap: How the CDF Supports Our Community!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this month’s Chamber Luncheon at First Baptist Church! Attendees enjoyed a delicious barbecue sandwich lunch provided by the CDF, along with desserts from Jaudawn's Jubilees.

This month, attendees heard from Ron Scheets on behalf of the Cabool Development Foundation (CDF), an organization focused on supporting local growth and opportunity within the community.

CDF originally began as a group looking for additional healthcare options for Cabool residents, simply to give locals more choices when seeking care. At the time, Cabool only had one physician, and many residents were traveling to surrounding towns for medical services.

One of the organization’s major accomplishments was helping bring Missouri Ozarks Community Health (MOCH) to Cabool.

Key Highlights from CDF:

  • Supports local economic growth and development

  • Offers small low-interest business loans

    • Up to $5,000

    • Only 3% interest

  • Encourages new businesses, building improvements, and community investment

  • Works to help connect people with resources and development opportunities

CDF shared that they would love to see:

  • Existing buildings filled and utilized

  • New buildings constructed and occupied

  • Continued investment in the Cabool community

Attendees were also encouraged to reach out to Ron Reed, who is a valuable source of information and connections related to economic development in the area.

To get in touch with Ron Scheets with CDF for Ron Reed, please contact the City of Cabool at 417-962-3136.

CDF meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 11 AM at Cabool City Hall, and community members are always welcome to attend and learn more about the organization’s efforts.

Chamber Director Scarlett Smith also provided updates for members and thanked current Chamber Partners: TMB Reed Parts & Farm Supply, Midland Ag, Cabool Lease, Love's Pest Professionals, and Audrey Boyle, KW Local Realty.
