March Chamber Luncheon Recap | March 24, 2026

The Cabool Chamber of Commerce enjoyed a delicious meal and presentation at the Cabool Senior Center.

Cabool Chamber of Commerce March Luncheon hosted by the Cabool Senior Center.

Chamber Members gathered at the Cabool Senior Center on Tuesday, March 24, for an engaging meal and presentation about the Senior Center and the work they are doing to share more information with the community.

Senior Center staff member Angie Nordquist provided an informative talk about the services and activities the center offers to Cabool, including their weekly meal service available to anyone in the community. The Senior Center provides a homestyle meal Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and everyone is invited to attend. Seniors age 60+ may enjoy the meal for a suggested contribution of $4 per meal, while all other guest meals are $8.

Angie also shared that meals can be delivered to homebound seniors in the community. In addition, volunteers provide weekly reassurance calls to connect with individuals and ensure they are doing well. This is a valuable service that also allows the Senior Center to relay important information to emergency contacts when needed.

Businesses also have the opportunity to sponsor a lunch at the Senior Center. To learn more, please contact Angie at Angie.Nordquist@senioragemo.org or call 417-962-3860.

Angie also discussed the events and activities offered at the Senior Center. In addition to meaningful volunteer opportunities, the center hosts monthly foot care clinics, nutrition and health information sessions, and monthly SMP Fraud Patrol updates.

The Senior Center also provides weekly activities to keep seniors socialized and active. Their current schedule includes:

  • Pool Room & Exercise Room | Open Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Teacher-Led Exercise | Monday & Wednesday, 10:00 AM

  • Crafts | Wednesday, time to be announced

  • Line Dancing | Thursday, 10:00 AM

  • Computer/Phone Assistance | Thursday, after 12:30 PM

The Senior Center is always seeking input for additional daily activities that seniors would enjoy.

A highlight of the luncheon was the unveiling of a newly printed pamphlet designed to promote everything the Senior Center has to offer. Angie encouraged any business owner or community member who would like copies to share with customers or loved ones to call and let the center know how many are needed so they can place an order.

A picture of the pamphlet is shown below.

Chamber Director Scarlett Smith also provided updates for members and thanked current Chamber Partners: TMB Reed Parts & Farm Supply, Midland Ag, and Cabool Lease.

Chamber Member Updates:
