The Cabool Chamber of Commerce welcomed MSU West Plains as the guest speaker for the February Luncheon!

Yesterday, we were honored to welcome Missouri State University–West Plains Chancellor Zora Mulligan to our Cabool Chamber Luncheon.
Chancellor Mulligan shared an in-depth regional update outlining both the challenges and opportunities facing higher education and workforce development in our area. Key highlights included:
Encouraging growth in the regional high school graduate pipeline through 2028
Population and employment trends impacting Texas County and the surrounding seven-county region
Employer feedback emphasizing the need for qualified workers, stronger foundational employability skills, and expanded short-term certificates and workforce credentials
Strategic goals focused on aligning university programs with regional workforce needs
We also learned about exciting momentum at MSU-West Plains, including the new Veterinary Technology program and discussions around a regional manufacturing consortium to better support local industry.
A sincere thank you to all of our Chamber members who attended and engaged in the discussion. Your participation is what makes these luncheons valuable and impactful for our business community.
Congratulations to the Texas County Health Department for winning the luncheon drawing! We’re excited to feature your logo on the Chamber homepage as part of your recognition.
We truly appreciate MSU-West Plains for sharing data-driven insights and for their commitment to being an active partner in strengthening our regional economy. Partnerships like this help position Cabool and Texas County for long-term growth.
Remember to save the date for our March Luncheon!
