Gaby’s Kitchen and VFW Post 473 joined us at our recent Chamber luncheon to share upcoming events, community activities, and the many ways they’re serving Cabool and our local veterans.
August Chamber Luncheon Recap: Gaby’s Kitchen & VFW Post 473
At our August Cabool Area Chamber luncheon, we welcomed Gaby’s Kitchen and VFW Post 473 to share more about what they have happening in our community.
Gaby’s Kitchen serves Mexican-American favorites and can be found at the VFW kitchen on Fridays beginning at 4 p.m. Gaby will also be at Amelia Market on September 12 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. and at other locations throughout the area. Beginning in October, she will be taking orders for tamales and homemade flour tortillas, with plans to expand into catering in the new year. VFW Post 473 offers plenty of opportunities for veterans and community members to get involved. The game room is open Monday–Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with pool tables available for $5 per hour. Every Friday, the VFW hosts a pool tournament, with sign-ups by 6:45 p.m. and play beginning at 7 p.m.
Upcoming events include a Flag Retirement Ceremony on September 19 at noon and the VFW’s Community Dinner on the last Monday of each month at 5 p.m., which is free and open to everyone. The VFW also holds its members meeting on the last Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.
They also shared information about the Wheelchairs for Warriors Golf Tournament on October 3 at Randel-Hinkle Municipal Golf Course in Mountain Grove, featuring a two-man scramble, raffle, live auction, 50/50 drawing and a $10,000 hole-in-one prize sponsored by Cabool VFW.
